61. Stitching a new definition of success, with design expert Christine Burton

Until now I’ve featured many stories on this podcast from people who are shaping their career. Today I wanted to change things up a bit, and share with you a story of someone who - after 30 years in her career, has re-invented herself yet again to discover new beginnings.

Her name is Christine Burton, and she’s a dear friend and mentor of mine.

With over 30 years experience in financial services and more recently in higher education, Christine was known as a ‘customer focused solution design expert’ strong on team leadership and project delivery.

Then one day, major life challenges came along.

Faced with some big decisions, Christine ended up making a dramatic pivot to the creative textile industry where she is currently teaching, designing and producing traditional pieces of hand embroidery in her one woman business called ‘A Crewel Beginning’.

Topics covered:

  • How Christine pivoted across her career chapters
  • Her latest pivot - launching a creative career in retirement
  • Redefining success in each career chapter

If today’s topic resonates with where you’re at in your journey, Christine and I would love to hear from you via LinkedIn.
