Nonresidential construction spending is down - here’s why | Walkthrough Wednesday

Analysis by Associated Builders and Contractors shows that national nonresidential construction spending declined 0.9% from May to June - and 6.6% year-over-year from June 2020. Demand for construction remains high: many contractors are reporting longer backlogs than at this time last year. So what's the issue? There simply aren't enough skilled workers available to fully staff every project.
