Episode 34 | Marcus Smith

On Episode 34 of The Bulldog Gear Podcast we are joined by the irrepressible Marcus Smith. Marcus is a gym owner, motivational speaker, and extreme athlete whose exploits include running 207km around a 400m track in 24 hours, a triple ascent of the Tour de Frances hardest climb, and completing the 250km race across the Sahara that is the Marathon des Sable. As well as getting stuck into Marcus’s philosophies on training, coaching, and life, we touched on some pretty controversial topics, both arguing our corner on whether or not a coach’s own physique and body composition really matter, before diving into why most have struggle to have ‘good days’, the magic of a black notebook, and why it’s important to stop and stroke cats. Enjoy.
