Rebuilding for Hope

Listen to Byens Podcast reporting directly from the UIA World Congress of Architects taking place in Bella Center Copenhagen from 2 to 6 July 2023. With a large-scale international program of debates and talks, the Congress holds a number of pavilions showcasing sustainable approaches in architecture. In the Rebuilding Pavilion, curated by The Royal Danish Academy and funded by Realdania, the aim has been to physically test sustainable rebuilding. Designed by Vandkunsten the pavilion is made from waste materials, biomaterials, upcycled and reused products and lots of care, compassion and collaborative efforts and is aimed to be send 100 % into recirculation. As an example of new ways to plan and build, a global group of architects have worked with these principles and will tell how they see the possibilities of sustainable rebuilding.
