Deja Coup: Brazil's Insurrection
Two years after the January 6 assault on the Capitol in Washington DC, hundreds of right wing followers of the former Brazilian President Jair Bolsanaro launched an attempted coup in their country’s capital Brasilia, vandalising the Presidential Palace, Congress buildings and the Supreme Court. Order now seems to have been restored, but the parallels with the attempt to overthrow Joe Biden’s election are more than co incidental.
