#137) Failing Forward in Your Career | Michael Ryan

Today, we’re going to talk about failing forward as it pertains to your career. As we learn in this stimulating conversation, how you frame failure can determine whether you’re going to taking leaps forward in your career or not.

My next guest, Michael Ryan, is the author of the book Make Your Career Go BOOM! Not Bust: Practical Tips to Succeed in an Ever-Changing World. Legendary business author Ken Blanchard endorsed this book calling it one of the best self-help books he’s read.  Universities throughout the US use the book to provide students with an edge as they start their careers. Businesses have hired Michael to provide their workers with the skills to improve performance. Additionally, he’s appeared on MSNBC's Morning Joe as well as other media channels. As an award-winning journalist and a former senior media executive, he’s enjoyed coaching and developing employees...which is one of the reasons he’s on the show today.

Some things we’ll cover:

  • Why is failure important as a part of our career?
  • When do you give something up in your career that’s not working?
  • Let’s talk about how we can turn a failure into a career opportunity.
