Ex-tropical Cyclone Tam making way through the country
Brace for strong winds and intense downpours - as ex-tropical cyclone Tam lashes large parts of the country. The wild weather's already begun with more than 1000 homes in Northland losing power earlier today. Strong wind and heavy rain warnings are in place across the upper North Island, while the top of the South Island also has warnings in place.
