S04E06 | Children's Movies | The White Baloon (1995) Iranian Movie

Iranian films are known to take a simple idea and get that out to be a beautiful movie. On that line, the White Baloon by Prolific Director Jafar Panahi (This is also his Debut film) takes a simple tale of a girl wanting to buy a fish where the Director explores the inherent nature of human kindness and the trivial (Or is it?) issue of a child wanting to buy a fish.  We had Senthil, who runs the Madras Film Screen Club along with his friends as a guest, where he talks about Iranian cinema in general, Abbas Kiarostami, and many things about this movie. Hop on to listen to our discussion and I believe you will enjoy this as much as we did talking about the film.
