The U.S. has unveiled sweeping new tariffs — including a staggering 145% on Chinese goods and steep duties on African nations like South Africa (30%) and Lesotho (50%). While tariffs on most countries are temporarily paused, a 10 % blanket duty still applies. Could this disruption open the door to deeper China–Africa economic ties?
