In Search of a Refuge
David wrote Psalm 31 while running from King Saul and on the heels of the slaughter of Ahimelech the High Priest and 84 other priests at the hands of Doeg, Saul's chief herdsman. David felt partially responsible for their deaths...and many held him responsible. David needed a refuge, and he found one in the Lord. We all need a refuge from time to time as we navigate the difficulties that life brings our way. Like ancient ships needed to find a harbor to winter in, so we need a place to seek a shelter from the storms of life.
