On February 23, 2022, in the early morning hours, Tara Pakanich was sleeping at her home in Green Bay, Wisconsin, when suddenly, she heard a slam from the storm door. Tara wasn't too worried because she thought it might be her son's friend, Taylor Schabusiness, leaving. She got out of bed and noticed that the basement light was on.
