Athenian statesman Demosthenes accused her of being a “pharmakis,” which could mean he called her a witch, but it could also be translated as an individual who makes and uses healing or harmful drugs and spells. What he was taking issue with was Theoris’s practice of supplying "drugs and charms" -- but was she using them for harm?
