Travel Vloggers Have Become the CCP’s Newest Propaganda Tool

The Chinese regime has turned to an unconventional source for propaganda: travel vloggers. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been using its state-run news outlets and other entities to promote the channels of propagandists. And while the pro-CCP travel vloggers have become the face of this program, the regime is also extending this into a broader propaganda network of reporters, podcasters, presenters, and influencers. These operations have been allowed to take place largely in the open, but could run into pressure given that similar networks tied to Russia have led to criminal charges of people working as foreign agents.
