Tensions Linger In France After A Child Was Murdered

Hundreds of far-right supporters gathered in Paris in October to condemn the murder of a 12-year-old girl. The suspected killer is an illegal Algerian immigrant, who was previously ordered to leave the country after her residence permit expired,  leading to calls for authorities to enforce immigration laws. Far-right politicians, were present, and the murder has become a politicized subject for right-wing and far-right French parties, renewing debates over the handling of illegal migration in the country.
