#386 Josh Roberts: Why We're So Bored At Work

My guest today is Josh Roberts, author of Anxious Man and Generation Drift (Why We’re Up Career Creek and How to Paddle Home). He is a mental health writer, speaker and consultant; and cohost of the Voicemale podcast with Jamie Laing. He started his career as a Strategy Consultant at Deloitte, before moving into advertising. Three years ago, he experienced a rather intense mental breakdown which culminated in being diagnosed with a Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD). Inspired by comments and stories he received, he resolved to quit his job and devote my time to trying to help others through writing, broadcasting and public speaking on the topic of mental health. I really enjoyed this new book on careers, mental health, comparison, success and why so many of us are ‘drifters’. Hope you enjoy this conversation and definitely recommend grabbing a copy of the book!LINKS:Join my Substack community and come and say hi! https://thehyphen.substack.com/Buy DISCONNECTED here: https://uk.bookshop.org/a/153/9781529373127Buy Anxious Man: https://uk.bookshop.org/a/153/9781529364927Buy Generation Drift: https://uk.bookshop.org/a/153/9781529377248My books: https://uk.bookshop.org/contributors/emma-gannonMy favourite 2022 reads: https://uk.bookshop.org/lists/best-reads-of-2022Social media:Twitter: Twitter.com/emmagannonInstagram: Instagram.com/emmagannonuk Hosted on Acast.
