P.S. 118 - bridging the gap between old and new while opening minds along the way

P. S. 118 is a Philadelphia-based collaboration between two friends, Lucas Hough and Jansen Scott. The duo makes music that is a result of their experiences.
Harsh environments tend to create rugged beings. But now and then they can construct polished products. Just as sandpaper can smooth out an unrefined stone, North Philadelphia’s rigid culture has spawned a duo whose sleek and fluid grooves are consistently contagious. Consisting of a once traveling blues pianist and touring hip-hop DJ, P.S. 118 aims to preach the gospel that we call house. Creativity, abstraction, and simplicity are at the core of their back-to-back dj sets that are heavily inspired by classic New York and Chicago sounds filtered through the lens of London and Berlin.
Making things formal in 2013, the duo released their debut E.P. “Vol. 1” comprised of 5 original tracks in June of 2015 independently to local acclaim. With residencies: “Extra Credit”, “Suede”, and all-vinyl in-stores “P.S. 118 & Friends” the duo’s dance floor experience is tried and true. P.S. 118 seeks to push Philadelphia’s electronic scene, bridging the gap between old and new while opening minds along the way.
