Marcus Grodi and Msgr. Jeffrey Steenson continue through Book IV of Against Heresies by St. Ireneaus of Lyons with a discussion of the question of sacrifice in Christianity. Some of the interlocutors of St. Irenaeus believed that Christ did away with the very idea of sacrifices. But as St. Irenaeus points out, those sacrifices were not negated by Christ, but fulfilled in him.
