PREMIERE: Atypikal - Landing [Academeia Records]
The relentless churn of techno welcomes a fresh face: Academeia Records, a Copenhagen outfit ready to launch into the stratosphere. Their debut offering, a sprawling 22-track compilation titled "Transparent World," promises a voyage through the genre's diverse landscape. We find established figures like Anthony Linell and Space Drum Meditation alongside the local legend Martinez, a veteran with years etched in the electronic music scene. Our focus today is "Landing," a collaborative effort by Athenian duo Atypikal. The track starts subtly, a slow burn of tension that builds for two minutes before erupting into a full-blown techno odyssey. Atypikal throws everything at the wall here: relentless percussion lays the foundation, catchy melodic sequences weave through the mix, and the kick drum pulsates like a throbbing heart. Swirling synth lines add a layer of spacey intrigue, a welcome touch considering the track's relentless drive.
