Today we are premiering a way out from the winter melancholy offered by a German producer and Super Tuff affiliate Tilman in his signature jazzy house spin onto Vaughan’s original “If I’d Been More Smart.” Coming on a two-track single, Tilman’s remix is a dancefloor-friendly injection of the summery glee and cheering warmth, serving an ideal remedy for the dreadful and unsettling winter. The Fine label head adds a warm tape drift to the piano sample and lays it atop a chunky, MPC-driven house groove, effortlessly creating an irresistibly friendly and careless vibe. M.
