EP 10: From Investment Banker to Co-Founder of Velviere, Start-Up Challenges and Working with Friends with Jide Onwuazor

This week I’m joined by Jide, one of 4 co-founders who created the luxury tailoring brand, Velviere. Velviere was formed after a trip to Vietnam where they had some pieces tailored for them and received raving compliments back home in the UK. Taking on board the feedback, Jide and his co-founders decided to create a brand. Jide opens up about the obstacles he’s encountered and the reality of building a fashion brand with no fashion experience whatsoever. After working in investment banking for 10 years, Jide took the plunge and became self-employed to focus on Velviere full time. However, this did come with it’s challenges, especially with an unplanned pandemic which we dive into later on in the podcast. I hope you enjoy this raw and candid conversation, it sure did inspire me to keep pushing no matter what.  If you love this episode please leave a review, subscribe, and share with somebody who’ll appreciate today’s message. -- To learn more about Jide and Velviere: Shop Velviere - https://www.velviere.com/ Velviere's Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/velviere Velviere's Twitter - https://twitter.com/velviere -- Follow The Entry Platform for regular doses of fashion, mindset, and business gems on Instagram! @theentry_platform For day to day posts of my life and BTS of my brand, follow me on Instagram - @iamrebeccatembo
