EP 14: Organically Building a Fashion Brand and the Challenges of Entrepreneurship with Chloe Williams

Welcome back to D2D! Today we are joined with Chloe Williams, or you may know her as Chloe Chanel on Instagram, formerly the co-founder of Mama’s Boutique which she has now solely rebranded to Embi Studio. I discovered Mama’s Boutique when I was about 16/17 years old and the brand played such a pivotal role in my dream to be a fashion designer. There was nothing like it at the time and it was my first experience seeing young women (especially black women) create a clothing brand from scratch - I was so inspired not just by the designs, but by the fact it was possible.⁣ This is why I’m a huge advocate for sharing the journey. Let people in so they can be inspired and feel like it’s possible too. I love that social media enables us to do this now - these conversations are what Chloe and I both felt like we needed when we embarked on this journey. Chloe delves into her early influences, the early days of Mama’s boutique, the reality behind owning a fashion brand, and why this rebrand was so important to her. Stick around because this episode will leave you fired up! If it does, as I predict, please do not forget to subscribe and leave a lovely review so we can help more designers and founders on their journey.
