EP 23: From Cousins to Co-Founders, Dressing Maya Jama & Nightmare Manufacturers with Kam & Sharon

Kam and Sharon are cousins turned co-founders of British womenswear brand, For the Frill. The pair grew up very close living together, attending the same schools, and vacationing. In 2019 Kam, who is 27 working in banking, and Sharon 28 working in housing, launched For the Frill which they describe has a chic, elegant style for empowered women who are unafraid to turn heads. Whilst they had and have this amazing vision of where their brand could take them, it hasn’t come without its challenges, the biggest one being a year delayed launch due to incompetent manufacturers they found on Alibaba. This resulted in them moving their production back to the UK which gives the duo greater oversight into the progress of their collections. We spoke about the magical moment when Maya Jama wore and posted a photo of herself in their Nala satin dress and the impact it had on the business as well as emotionally after all their hard work. As well as, what is it really like having a co-founder especially when you are family?
