Goosebumps, The Last of Us, Costume Designer Cynthia Summers

Cynthia Summers is an Emmy-winning Costume Designer based in Los Angeles and Vancouver. She is best known for her brilliant and unique style-eye in world building and bringing characters to life, whether they are modern day and fashion-driven or fantastical creatures taken from the pages of a book. Cynthia is inspired by the spirit of character in creating cohesive looks that resonate for each individual within the world that they inhabit. HBO’s adaptation of THE LAST OF US, created by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann and starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, is Cynthia’s recent hit project. She also completed work on the newly released Apple Original film SWAN SONG, with Oscar winner Mahershala Ali, Glenn Close, Naomie Harris, and Awkwafina. In 2021 she was awarded a Daytime Emmy Award in Outstanding Costume Design for her work on Netflix’s first season of THE BABY-SITTER’S CLUB. Her stand out designs for the second and third seasons of Netflix’s Emmy-Nominated series LEMONY SNICKET’S A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS, starring Neil Patrick Harris, have won five CAFTCAD awards and were nominated for 2019 & 2020 Costume Designer’s Guild Awards as well as two Primetime Emmys (2018 & 2019) in Outstanding Fantasy/Sci Fi Costumes. She was also nominated for a 2021 Costume Designer’s Guild award for Excellence in Sci-Fi/Fantasy Television for TNT’s SNOWPIERCER season 1, starring Jennifer Connelly and Daveed Diggs. Cynthia has also designed looks for NETFLIX’S cyberpunk-noir sci-fi series ALTERED CARBON starring Anthony Mackie and Simone Missick; five seasons of Bravo’s breakout hit and first scripted series GIRLFRIENDS’ GUIDE TO DIVORCE and all 6 groundbreaking seasons of Showtime’s Emmy-nominated series THE L WORD, for which she was the recipient of the Hollywood Style Award – Best Costumes. Cynthia is praised for the chic looks she develops for an array of characters. Her style choices move flawlessly from the screen to viewers’ closets as she presents versatile options, visually defining each character in a way that connects with consumers. Cynthia’s outstanding and diverse resume of 60+ credits includes FOX’s Emmy-winning series BONES, her creations on the prequel cadet academy world of Halo for Microsoft’s series adaptation of HALO 4: FORWARD UNTO DAWN as well as her film work including BEAUTIFUL BOY, APOLLO 18, and THE SHOW starring Giancarlo Esposito, Josh Duhamel, James Franco, and Famke Janssen to name a few.

He has also edited over 10 feature films, and worked as a Star Trek consultant for Viacom Interactive and Paramount Parks' Star Trek: The Experience located at the Las Vegas Hilton. Burnett has twice been a guest of honor at the science, science fiction, and fantasy convention, convergence. Host concept artist Phillip Boutte Jr. Phillip is known for his work as assistant costume designer for Mattel and Netflix’s upcoming “Masters of the Universe,” has also worked tirelessly for well over a decade to establish himself as a concept artist whom costume designers and studios are eager to work with. With credits such as “Black Panther,” “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “Captain Marvel,” to name just three, Boutte has become one of the few people of color in a field in which directors and star talent can step in and make a difference by championing inclusion. Boutte recently worked on “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil,” with costume designer Ellen Mirojnick tapping him for concept art.
