In this week’s episode Andrew is joined by Ben and Webby. They start by going back to the old tradition of cracking open a beer, generously provided by John Barrett and AF.The first topic is Winter Barley. The boys go over how it went and how it compares to the spring barley harvest. They move on to talk about the not so promising subject of Spring Barley, which Webby estimates is around 30% down on yield in Norfolk. Andrew talks about the lack of low nitrogen barley this year.They discuss the difficulties in getting values from the maltsters. Ben and Webby bring up the perceived low number of Flea Beatles this year.The team guess that wheat yields will be about 10% down.
