Managing Enteral Access Complications with Leah Hidalgo, RD, LDN

Leah Hidalgo, RD, LDN is a Washington D.C. based Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, who seamlessly transitioned from a successful nursing career to her current role. With a distinctive background that integrates healthcare and nutrition, she has successfully led community-based health initiatives both locally and internationally, collaborating on school nutrition programs to instill healthy eating habits in children and educating women on nutrition and food safety in South American communities. For the past two years, Leah has been at the forefront of oncology nutrition in the nation’s capital, providing vital nutrition support to low-income communities facing challenges with nutrition management and food insecurity. Collaborating with social workers, Leah ensures individuals receive life-sustaining nutrition, including oral nutritional supplements, who either cannot afford them or lack insurance coverage, through grant funded programs.  She also orchestrates a grocery program to provide access to healthy foods for individuals undergoing treatment and facing financial constraints. This epsiode is hosted by Christina M. Rollins, MBA, MS, RDN, LDN, FAND, CNSC and was recorded on 3/4/2024.
