Sara Cox, mackerel with a watermelon rojak and a rosé

Nick and Angela welcome a TV and radio broadcaster to DISH HQ. Sara Cox is a proud northern lass from Bolton and began her career as a model in her teens. With the chops for more, Sara auditioned for The Girlie Show on Channel 4 and didn’t take no for an answer. From there, work on the wireless beckoned and she became the host of the Radio 1 Breakfast Show in the year 2000. Among other shows, Sara presented The Great Pottery Throw Down, which inspired her to write her debut novel Thrown. Sara presents Drivetime on Radio 2 and the new series of her book show, Between the Covers, starts on 6 November on BBC Two. Angela prepares Sara a dish by her friend Ravinder Bhogal - mackerel with a watermelon rojack - and the experts at Waitrose pair the meal with a Guigal Côtes du Rhône Rosé. Our threesome chat about the glory of a northern palate, Sara’s passion for horseriding and why Nick simply cannot be a guest on her book show. Just so you know, our podcast might contain the occasional mild swear word or adult theme.
