004: Zach Klein | Build The Company That You Wouldn't Sell

At the age of 23, Zach sold his company Vimeo. But as soon as he sold his company, he wanted nothing more than to have those wings again. He missed it. He realised he wanted to keep flying. Zach humbly offers advice on what he's doing now (DIY.org) and the lessons he's learned that have informed his own company. Why doing something valuable that solves worthy challenges, contributes to culture, standing up for what's important, and behaving as if your company is going to be here 100 years from now, matters.Zach Klein is a co-founder of DIY, a club for kids to learn skills together, though he’s also known for co-founding and designing Vimeo. He’s a partner at Founder Collective, the seed-stage venture capital firm based in New York City, and formerly a faculty member at the School of Visual Arts’ MFA program in Interaction Design. He’s passionate about the future of communities, homesteading, self-reliance, and creative literacy for all.—Recorded live at the global event in Cardigan, west Wales in 2013.Watch Zach's full talk here: www.thedolectures.com/talks/zach-klein-build-the-company-that-you-wouldnt-sell
