046: Alice Holden | How To Get Young People To Love The Land

Alice represents a small group of young people who are choosing a career on the land. She will tell us how and why the work captured her & perhaps even challenge our notions of what it means to be a farmer. The author of Do Grow, Alice Holden has extensive experience in farming and market gardening, which she uses to help build 'Growing Communities'. A community-led organisation based in Hackney, North London, this project not only provides fresh, seasonal produce to the locals, but is also offering a real alternative to the current damaging food system.—Recorded live at the global event in Cardigan, west Wales in 2010.Watch Alice's full talk here: www.thedolectures.com/talks/alice-holden-how-to-get-young-people-to-love-the-land
