The central assholes featured in our month’s theme of ASSHOLES ON FILM keep getting riper and riper. They’re gaping more and more. It’s been a minute since we’ve seen a movie that makes our skin crawl but Jake Gyllenhaal’s performance and a sociopathic stringer in Dan Gilroy’s 2014 Neo-Noir “Nightcrawler” was truly grimy. In the ultra cynical world of news and entertainment media you don’t have to be a good person, or even have any sense of humanity, to thrive in the bloody environment of fear-mongering violence. I think this movie gave me heartburn. They did my dude, Riz, so dirty. Fuck you, Lou. To hell with you AND Elon Musk.
