Martin and Lewis. Sonny and Cher. Bonnie and Clyde. Laurel and Hardy. Drew and Bob. Penis and Testicles. And now...Tommy and Frank. Before the presence of a lot of current medical technology, a Major League pitcher’s career was considered done when those pesky elbow tendons wore completely out. One day a desperate Tommy John, pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers, looked to the team doctor for a revolutionary new solution. Doctor Frank Jobe had a crazy idea to take a tendon from Tommy’s forearm and replace what is gone in his elbow. Seemed like a long shot at the time. Cut to present day and hundreds of MLB players have added years onto their careers with this revolutionary procedure. THUS WAS BORN THE TOMMY JOHN’S SURGERY. Hear Bob and Drew close out the March of sports Shorties with Richie Keen’s ESPN short “Tommy and Frank”. Not all Hall of Famers are athletes.
