Dream Shakerz Weekly Shakedown 5-29-21

In this episode, we'll be connecting with Nigel Davis, a University of Florida alum, a current Software Engineer at Microsoft, and the current CEO/Founder of Grapevine Campus. During the show, Nigel highlighted what lead him to become a software developer, how creating a startup provided the opportunity to grow both mentally and professionally as a leader, and what Grapevine Campus is currently setting out to do as it helps the next generation of college students tackle some of the challenges that relate to mental health. As always, we'll also be sure to cover this week's opportunities for minority students in the Level-Up!-Fall Virtual Content Acquisitions Intern @ HBOInternship Location: RemoteLink: https://bit.ly/2SKUwybFinance Development Program Internship @ AppleProgram Locations: Cupertino, CALink:https://bit.ly/3yTrPzAEnergy Product Management Internship @ TeslaInternship Location: Palo Alto, CALink: https://bit.ly/3fYBf4p-Dream Shakerz IGLink: https://www.instagram.com/dr3am_shakerz/

Om Podcasten

Welcome to the Dream Shakerz Podcast, our weekly show that covers technology, venture capital, and professional development from the vantage point of an ex-banker whose since switched to overseeing operations at a startup and a former management consultant whose in the midst of transitioning to graduate school to study human-computer interaction and design. As young black men, we realized that there was a void in regards to content creators who came from impoverished backgrounds but have also found success in professional spaces while staying true to who they are as people. We want to inform you, our audience, that your beginnings should not rule out certain career paths and that professional success doesn't necessarily mean you have to cut off all cultural ties. Given our success in plotting a course from public housing units in the Bronx to programs at Harvard, we believe we can effectively speak to this need.
