Radio show with Sir Ian Boyd discussing the Climate Emergency and the University of St Andrews’ new Environmental Sustainability Board

This podcast episode is a recording of the live radio show on Friday the 7th of February 2020 on St Andrews Radio with Sir Ian Boyd. Sir Ian is the former Chief Scientific Advisor at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs in the UK. He helped establish the Scottish Oceans Institute and is now back in St Andrews and will head the University of St Andrews’ new Environmental Sustainability Board. During the radio interview we discussed Sir Ian’s environmental journey, his route to politics, the workings of climate and environmental policy, the urgency for action in a Climate Emergency and the mission of the new Environmental Sustainability Board.

Many thanks to Sir Ian for such an interesting and inspiring discussion and for joining me on “Eco-Activist Journeys”. Thank you also to all the listeners who joined the live show. My radio show will continue running Fridays from 3-4pm during this semester so tune in via St Andrews Radio (STAR) to contribute to the live discussions and shape debates on sustainability and climate politics.

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, that is the only thing that ever has." - M. Mead
