How Mews is turning a hotel-focused SaaS product into a fintech play

In this episode, I am speaking with Mews' CEO Matt Welle about how his company is turning from a SaaS into a fintech business. Mews targets hotels and provides them the technical backbone to operate. The startup is based in the Netherlands and achieved unicorn status in March 2024 with a $110 million fundraise. Initially the company focused purely on SaaS and was collaborating with payment providers. When they understood the opportunity, they started to bring the payment stack in-house. In recent years they added lending and are exploring a wide range of other financial services. Which ones? Listen to the podcast and find out.
