697: How Can You Manage It All? {Interview with Heather Fawcett}

“Sometimes the strength of motherhood is greater than natural laws.” – Barbara Kingsolver   In this episode, Heather and I talk about: How to listen and connect with each other  Why it's important to share our stories What our children can teach us   Heather is a mom to a wild, curious, charismatic 9 year old son. She became a parent through International adoption where she journeyed to Russia to bring home her son. Her kiddo has been demonstrating big behaviours since he was very small. In the process of getting diagnosis and treatment for his dysregulation she has uncovered a wealth of knowledge, tools and experiences that she would like to pay forward and share with other moms that have kiddos that are differently wired. It is a healing journey for both of us that continues to unfold and evolve. My favourite quote: "Motherhood is about raising and celebrating the child you have, not the child you thought you'd have. Its about understanding he is exactly the person he is supposed to be. And, if you're lucky, he might be the teacher who turns you into the person you're supposed to be"   Check out Heather on her Facebook group, Nevertheless She Persisted: https://www.facebook.com/groups/2635341309921475/   Continue the conversation on Instagram @heatherchauvin_ Sign up for the Getting Out of Your Own Way FREE workshop here: www.heatherchauvin.com/workshop
