Hailing from the streets of California, Jayna Blackwell was born in Ohio when she moved to Oakland to pursue her musical career. In addition to this, she has also won the Thicknation Song of the Year Award in 2015, the Bay Area Music Award in 2014, and the Best Neo-Soul Performer Award in 2012. At present, the Mistress of Soul aims to tour different parts of the world so that she can continue sharing the spotlight with other musical legends like the Thrilltrain, the BE Motown Review Show, Buttah and the Buttahlove Band and Niecey Livingsingle.
