Hailing from Detroit MI, BlackTear started his musical journey in November 2014 and received attention from veterans in his city such as Helluva, Big HerK, and Lady Blade. After making five tracks, he took a break from music and started Black Out Radio in 2015. In 2016, he became an affiliate of Brick Squad Monopoly through Dolla Ru, also an affiliate of Savage Life/SuperUnit and a member of Wu Worldwide DJ Coalition. In 2017, he became an affiliate of JoJo Capone's Global Gangsters and released a mixtape entitled "Behind Barz: The Arraignment," which is currently close to 100k hits on Datpiff.com. From 2018 until December 2020, no music was released until this date. Now he is back, working on his second mixtape release "The Black La Familia."
