#74: Finding Hot Spots in Stator Cores of Rotating Electrical Machines

Generators and motors are exposed to various stress factors during operation, which can cause damaging faults. Periodic tests are recommended to determine whether machine components must be repaired or replaced. In this episode, OMICRON rotating machines testing expert, Fabian Öttl, talks about electromagnetic imperfection measurements (also known as ELCID testing), which are performed to assess the condition of and detect damaging faults in the stator cores of large machines.
