Kögelmeier J: blended Diet

Dr. Jutta Köglmeier of Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children, in London, talks to us about blended diets for tube feedings and how they can contribute to patient care.  Do they permit adequate nutrition? Do they let parents and other caregivers bond more closely, as members of a family, with the children who are thus fed? Nutrition for the spirit as well as for the body is the principal topic — but she also gives us a look-in at what it’s like to be a girl from the Black Forest of Germany who has made a life for herself in the United Kingdom, with all its ups and downs, including the chip butty and other British non-blended cuisine.
