Estonian Minister of Defense Jüri Luik stresses that neither Europe nor the U.S. "has the luxury to question the transatlantic bond". He adds that "Europe’s aim to be stronger and more vocal in global affairs is absolutely normal." But "for the EU to be strategically more autonomous, a credible capability to conduct military operations is of paramount importance. Cultivating the culture of readiness should be part of Europe’s agenda."
