Podcast 71: Community Q&A
This episode answers questions related to retina health, drusen, what to do about night vision?, and how to reduce my nearsighted prescription while doing Dr. Berne's vision therapy program? Question1: Charlene: 16 seconds-9:11 “On May 1, 2019, I had retinal surgery to re-attach my retina. I had a full detachment that came off the macula as well. I had a very successful surgery including a scleral buckle. I am now able to see, however, I have a wrinkle (not sure if it is in the retina or the macula) and my vision is a little blurry. When I look at straight lines, they appear wavy, and everything leans to the right. I was recently released from the surgeon as he said he would not consider additional surgery to fix this issue. I am taking all the supplements as recommended by Dr. Sam as well as using MSM eye drops. I have randomly performed the eye exercises, but plan to get more consistent. Are there other things I could be doing to correct this issue? Anything else I could do to support my eye health going forward? Thank you! Question 2: This is an Instagram question from: Opticnervedrusen 9:12-14:06 “I have a few questions. What is drusen? Why do doctors say the drusen does not trigger pain? Is there a connection to the trigeminal nerve?” Question 3: Manuel: 14:07-17:26 What can I do to improve my night vision? Question 4: Janet: 17:27-20:58 “I am confused about how to reduce my prescription. I have been diagnosed with myopia and the doctor keeps increasing my prescription every year. I am frustrated and tired of this trend. Please help!”
