S02E07 Secrets from celebrity stylist Kate Young (+ bonus MET Ball rap!)

Celebrities. They just know how to look fabulous for every occasion, right? Well, no. Turns out, there is a fashion mastermind behind most red carpet moments these days, and none is more revered than Kate Young. As go-to stylist for the stars, Kate has put (and kept) names like Margot Robbie, Selina Gomez, Sienna Miller and Rachel Weisz on the fashion map. Oscars? Cannes? MET Gala? Publicity tours? You name it, she’s orchestrated the look for it!  Fashion No Filter flew to New York on the eve of The MET Ball — fashion’s biggest red carpet extravaganza — to catch up with Kate and find out what her job really entails.  Tune in for an unfiltered discussion on the current climate in fashion, what its really like working for Anna Wintour (Kate started her career at Vogue US where she went from being Anna’s assistant to holding the Sittings Editor position for many years before turning her attention to full time celebrity styling), the scoop on how fashion icons, and their iconic looks are made — from fittings to fiascos — not to mention some pretty real chat about what it means to be a feminist today.  And, stay for a bonus review of The MET Gala’s weirdest and most wonderful looks in the form of a rap (!) by beat poet/fashion publicist Sophie Roche Conti.  Email fashionnofilter@gmail.com or reach us on Instagram @fashionnofilter, @camillecharriere, @monicaainley.  For information regarding your data privacy, visit acast.com/privacy
