Failing and not reaching their full potential - Leo Russell and George Stagg

Amateur cyclists Leo Russell and George Stagg join me this week to discuss their fears of failure (Leo) and not reaching his full potential (George). In 2019, Leo and George cycled across some of the toughest mountains in Europe to raise money for a charity called James' place, a centre that is very close to my heart that offers support and therapy to men who are experiencing suicidal crisis. They cycled 3,200 kilometres in 18 days, climbing 9 of the toughest mountains in Europe through snowy peaks and torrential rain, and have now made an award-winning documentary about the experience called Nine Mountains.

This was actually the first episode I recorded and I was really interested to know what mental and physical barriers they faced on a ride that explored the limits of their bodies and minds. They talk about how their fears of failure and not reaching their full potential pushed them on, how working in a team gave them strength and why it was important to them to raise money for James' place.
