Panic Room (2002) and Toy Soldiers (1991)

In the latest episode of Film Stories with Simon Brew, what happened when director David Fincher sought a more contained movie to make, and the film that was supposed to be Die Hard crossed with Dead Poets Society. Panic Room started filming with Nicole Kidman in the lead. But a problem held over from making Moulin Rouge! left the movie with a major headache. 1991's Toy Soldiers, meanwhile, starred Sean Astin. But the director wasn't keen on casting him in the lead role. Stories of both are discussed in this episode. Find Simon on Twitter at @simonbrew, and the podcast can be found at @filmstoriespod.
