The Romanian documentary “Collective” was nominated for two major Oscar categories, including Best International Film and Best Documentary. The film received heavy praise upon its release. The story follows a Romanian newspaper’s investigation into a 2015 nightclub fire that killed dozens. It quickly pulls back a dark curtain of deeper corruption and mismanagement.
