Powell address looms large for global investors

The Central Bank Symposium is underway in Jackson Hole, Wyoming -- the first in-person gathering at this closely watched conference since the pandemic. The main event takes place tomorrow when Fed chair Jerome Powell delivers a key address. He has a chance to clear up uncertainty from global investors about future Fed policy and the pace of rate hikes going forward. And new numbers out today show the sensitive tightrope Powell is facing, as the US GDP contracted again in the last quarter.  Also on today's show: A devastating Russian attack on a train station in Ukraine leaves at least 25 dead. CNN's David McKenzie reports live from Kyiv. To learn more about how CNN protects listener privacy, visit cnn.com/privacy Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
