We sat down for an impassioned and rather touching chat about his career, The realities of the Film and Tv Environ, Earning your stripes and kids growing up in modern day Ireland. Gerry Nelson is an award winning Irish documentary filmmaker. Gerry switched to directing following ten years as a highly regarded, award winning, editor. With his first film, the acclaimed study of Lourdes, 'Faith, Hope and Plastic' Gerry quickly gained a reputation for creating imaginative and thoughtful programmes. Now with three decades of experience in television Gerry's work continues to impress. As a writer, director and photographer he is a total filmmaker. Most recently his Documentary series "The Game" Charting the history of our national sport of Hurling.
