In this episode we look at the escape of Captain Ian Poole Thomson, who was captured at El Alamein, escaped from Lamsdorf, was in Paris for D-Day and fought with the Maquis, winning a Military Cross for his services. Sadly our presenter, Dave Harrison, passed away from Covid last year, so this episode, as well as all the episodes in this series, is dedicated to him.
