حلالاماما (HALALAMAMA) is the moniker of Iraqi artist Mariam Tawfik. Mariam is behind the club night HAFLEH, which is a party run by and for migrants in Aotearoa. Her sets centre heavy percussive sounds and vocals, and are influenced by long drawn-out orchestral ballads by artists such as Oum Kalthoum and Warda, and works by more contemporary middle eastern producers such as DJ Plead and Al Nather.
