He is currently writing a book on the causes of the British Industrial Revolution, and is official historian for the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce, as well as head of innovation research for The Entrepreneurs Network. He is a visiting fellow at King's College London, where he was previously lecturer in Economic History.
