Are You A Thermometer Or A Thermostat?
Are you a thermometer or a thermostat? See a thermometer takes the temperature of the room. It reacts to its surroundings and assimilates to that. A thermostat on the other hand SETS the temperature of the room. As a leader, you’ve got to be a thermostat. Setting the temperature, the culture, the pace, the activity of your team. The room will follow your lead. If you’re at 100 degrees, it may take a little time depending on how big the room is but your team will heat up to 100 degrees. If you’re at 60 degrees then your team will cool down to 60. Now not everyone in the world can be a thermostat. The world couldn’t work that way. But if you want to be a leader, you must be a thermostat. So leaders…evaluate who you are as a person and as a leader. Thermostat or thermometer?
